Retreat, Refreshment, Recharge 2014

"Best ever... balance between great talks and free time was really good.   Lovely, special activities.  I feel privileged to have been here, 'refreshed,' 'renewed,' and thankful."   These comments made by one of the persons attending Recharge 2014 reflect what just about everybody said about the recent CRCA Ministry Conference held in Collaroy Conference Centre, Collaroy, NSW.

In the words of an old adage, a picture is worth a thousand words.   Check out the pictures on Facebook here.

The main speaker this year was Andrew Reid,  the lead Pastor at Holy Trinity Doncaster (Melbourne).    Andrew gave five excellent Bible talks on the first chapters of the book of Exodus.    These talks are now available for listen or download by going to the following links:

2.   Rescuers Human and Divine

3. Who Am I?

4.  Getting the Most Things Right

5. Struggling with Weakness

On the final evening Recharge hosted a formal banquet during which Rev. Joe Vermeulen of Grace CRC (Perth, WA) gave a mini concert.    Here are links to the music he shared:

Africa Song

Revelation 11 –My witnesses

Psalm 1 – Blessed are You

Lord I lift your Name – Jazz version

Revelation 2 & 3 - Hold on

There will be no Recharge Conference in 2015 since the CRCA Synod will meet that year.    While many people said this was the "best ever" Recharge Conference (including previous Ministers and Wives Conferences) -- we are already looking forward to the gathering in 2016.   Our commitment is to take serious the feedback we receive each year and attempt to host a conference that is a retreat is every sense of that word -- a time to be refreshed, encouraged, and truly recharged for ministry.

Organic Outreach

Most churches would agree that evangelism is a priority. The CRCA declares that reaching the lost is central to its calling as a church: we are a church reforming to reach the lost for Christ. But so few churches and Christians are bearing fruit. In fact, most churches are either maintaining the status quo or are in decline.

Shift is all about movement – with the help of one another and the power of God to reach our broken places and move ever closer to living a life worthy of our callings as churches and leaders. Leadership development begins with acknowledging and trusting the process and the people God uses to grow us.
