You’ve heard the stories about people in Christian ministry being at risk for burnout. What is happening such that this is a relatively common issue? And, more importantly, how does one go beyond simply avoiding burnout to actually becoming an engaged worker – feeling vigorous, passionate, and energized by one’s ministry? This session will explore how work characteristics, personal factors, and some specific dimensions of one’s spiritual lives (attachment to God, how people use their religion to cope with stress, and a sense of “calling”) contribute to sustained ministry work engagement.
